Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

The Short Version

We keep your anonymous messages anonymous. We collect the minimum info needed to make Rumur work. We don't sell your data to anyone. That's the gist.

What We Collect

  • Email address: So you can log in and receive messages
  • Messages you send: Obviously, we need to store these to deliver them
  • Basic usage data: Like when you signed up and how often you use the app

How Anonymous is Anonymous?

When you send an anonymous message, the recipient won't see who sent it. However, we do keep records on our end for safety reasons. If someone uses Rumur to harass or threaten others, we may need to take action or work with authorities. So be nice!

What We Don't Do

  • Sell your data to advertisers
  • Read your messages for fun (we have better things to do)
  • Share your info with your school, parents, or anyone else unless legally required
  • Use your email to spam you with marketing

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in and make the app work properly. They're the boring technical kind, not the chocolate chip kind (unfortunately).

Third-Party Services

We use some third-party services to run Rumur (like email delivery and hosting). These services have their own privacy policies, but we only share what's absolutely necessary for them to do their job.

Your Rights

You can ask us to delete your account and all your data at any time. Just reach out and we'll make it happen. You can also ask what data we have about you if you're curious.

Age Stuff

Rumur is meant for students. If you're under 13, you shouldn't be using this without parental consent. We don't knowingly collect info from kids under 13 without proper permission.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Major changes = we'll let you know somehow.
